Catalogue Description

Design and evaluation of alternative transportation networks for traffic impact studies. Focus on circulation improvements including site access, lane configuration, intersection geometry, and traffic control system designs. Evaluation of alternate designs for current and projected traffic.

Requirements

This course is an introduction to the design and modification of transportation networks to accommodate traffic impacts resulting from land development projects. These issues will be approached via small problems and a case study application. The course comprises lectures and labs, and requires about six to ten hours per week on average to keep pace.
