Project Summary:

The objective of this project is to provide Caltrans with PARAMICS-related assistance in three broad categories, on-call API support, technical guidance, and research related support.  

Project Description:

The detailed tasks in this project are explained as follows:

Task 1 On-call API support

1.1 Support Caltrans user inquiries on currently implemented UCI-developed APIs.
1.2 API Maintenance, Enhancement, and Development.
1.3 Due to the requirement of I-10 freeway ramp metering evaluation project, the research team was asked to implement SWARM ramp-metering algorithm in PARAMICS based on the source code from Caltrans. 

Task 2 Technical guidance on Micro-simulation

2.1 Micro-simulation Modeling Guidance and Evaluation
2.2 Peer Review of Caltrans Microsimulation Model Guidelines 

Task 3 Research Related Support

3.1 The Interface Between the 4-step Model and Traffic Microsimulation Models. The following integration issues will be reviewed: (1) Network Data Structure; (2) Demand Data Requirements; (3) Performance Assessment
